CPI is Recruiting for a Papercycle Manager

Location: 
The position is home-based, with some travel to London, CPI’s office in Swindon, Brussels, and within the UK as required. 

Salary: 
£40,000 per annum plus benefits. 

The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) has an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join the team to support the growth and development of Papercycle, and support CPI’s wider policy work on recycling and waste management practices. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of organisational, analytical, and communication skills, along with a commitment to promoting recycling and sustainable waste management practices.

About us: 
Papercycle, developed by CPI, provides recyclability certification services for fibre-based packaging products and materials. CPI is the leading trade association representing the UK’s Paper-based Industries, comprising paper and board manufacturers and converters, corrugated packaging producers, makers of soft tissue papers, and collectors of paper for recycling. CPI aims to enhance the industry’s competitiveness by advocating an appropriate legislative and regulatory regime in the UK, EU and globally, and also by sharing best practice within the CPI membership.

Position Overview: 
We are seeking a proactive, organised and results-driven individual to manage Papercycle and contribute to policy development related to recycling.  The Papercycle Manager will oversee all aspects of Papercycle's operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role entails overseeing the day-to-day operations of Papercycle, ensuring efficiency, quality service, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves analysing policy effectiveness, contributing to policy development, and engaging in stakeholder relations.

Duties:

  •  Lead and manage day-to-day operations to meet strategic objectives.
  • Develop operational processes, prepare reports to senior management, analyse performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Prepare briefing notes, contribute to consultation responses promoting the interests of the industry and the benefits of recycling. 
  • Customer engagement, ensuring timely resolution of enquiries and exceptional service delivery.
  • Drive initiatives to promote Papercycle's services and expand its market presence.
  • Collaborate with cross-sectoral teams and develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and service providers.
  • Involvement with relevant committees and working groups as appropriate.
